Conclusion:
AWeber’s scored a perfect 5 of 5 stars for Customer Service by having all types of support available seven days a week. Although the service doesn’t have any image hosting on the interface, the high number of templates offered, WYSIWYG editor, and ability to drag and drop images into templates helps make this service useful for most any type of user.
Ease of Use
AWeber scored 3 out of 5 stars for their Ease of Use. They offer more than 120 email templates that include up to three columns. However, our Market Standard for image hosting is 5 to 10MB and AWeber does not provide any image hosting. AWeber does have a WYSIWYG editor, which is a great tool that lets you see exactly what is going in your email as you design it. However, they do not allow you to drag and drop content blocks when creating your email campaigns. This makes it significantly more difficult to set up the layout of your campaign. AWeber does not include their logo in any of your outgoing emails.
Features
AWeber offers an automated program called a spam checker that makes sure your email campaign will not be flagged as spam by your recipients’ email accounts. The specific program they use to check your email is called Spam Assassin that runs 1200 tests on each email to ensure it’s not spam. They also let you take advantage of autoresponders which allows you to automatically respond to any emails received as well as send a sequence of messages in order to automatically follow up with correspondents. In addition, AWeber allows you to integrate your email campaign with the social networks Facebook and Twitter. This service does not offer an automatic A/B testing feature, but you can manually develop an A/B test by segmenting your contact list. AWeber is compatible with Google Analytics, which is a tool that tracks the traffic of your readers from your email campaign to (and throughout) your site.
Managing Contacts
AWeber’s scored 4 out of 5 stars for Managing Contacts. You are able to import from Excel and Outlook as a CSV file, as well as copy and paste contacts into the system. AWeber also automatically removes unsubscribes and bounces from your contact list.
Campaign Reports
AWeber scored 4 of 5 stars for Customer Support. Their reports accurately reflected the users’ actions in all of our tests. These reports display opens, number of clicks, bounces, unsubscribes, and spam reports. All of these reports can be viewed as raw data or in graphs. However, you cannot export bounces from the reports.
Customer Service
AWeber’s scored 5 out of 5 stars for Customer Service. AWeber has both phone and live chat customer support. These services are available Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. ET and on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET. In addition, AWeber has 24/7 email support. Their customer service was very helpful answering all of our questions. We did not encounter any hold times and support representatives responded immediately to all queries.
Pricing
AWeber does not have a free trial, but they do offer a 30-day money-back guarantee for up to 500 contacts that initially costs $1. Their pricing structure is based on the number of contacts you maintain in their database, which is advantageous if you plan on sending multiple emails per month to the same list of contacts. AWeber offers a 500 contact plan for $19 per month, a 2500 contact plan for $29 per month, and more.
