Conclusion:

Elite Email performed well on Customer Service by earning 5 out of 5 stars for having 24/7 customer support options and scored adequately on the Ease of Use and Features categories. However, Elite Email does not offer a WYSIWYG editor or very detailed reporting features. Their contact management is intuitive, and we were very impressed to see that campaigns are inspected by live people before they are sent out in order to prevent spam.

Ease of Use

Elite Email received 3 out of 5 stars for Ease of Use. They offer 240 email templates, but the templates were not very flexible even though you can edit and replace images on the templates and add up to three columns of text. Elite Email offers unlimited image hosting space, which beats our Market standard of 5 to 10 MB. Unlimited hosting is very useful for users don’t want to spend a lot of time managing and deleting their uploaded images. Elite Email does not offer a WYSIWYG editor, which is an easy-to-use email creation tool that shows what the final content of your email campaign will look like to your readers while you are editing it. Elite Email also does not allow you to drag and drop images or content blocks, and you cannot remove Elite Email’s vendor logo for free from your campaigns as they charge a one-time “no branding” upgrade of $249.

Features

Elite Email offers both spam checking software programs as well as live people to approve your campaigns before they are sent out, helping to reduce the likelihood your campaign will be marked as spam by your readers. Elite Email also provides autoresponders, which give the capability to have your account automatically respond with a prewritten message whenever an email is sent to your account. In addition, Elite Email integrates with Facebook and Twitter in order to fully maximize your marketing efforts. They do not offer an automatic A/B testing feature, but you can manually develop an A/B test by segmenting your contact list. They also do not  integrate with Google Analytics.

Managing Contacts

Elite Email scored 4 out of 5 stars for Managing Contacts. Elite Email’s contact system was very easy to manage, as customers can  import contacts from Excel, cut and paste and Outlook as a CSV file. Elite Email also automatically removes unsubscribes and bounces from your contact list, making it simple to keep your list up-to-date.

Customer Service

Elite Email received 5 out of 5 stars for Customer Service. They offer phone, live chat, and email support 24/7, which is especially useful when you have a question after normal business hours. Customer service responds very quickly and is very helpful.

Campaign Reports

Elite Email received 3 out of 5 stars for Campaign Reports. Reports were found to accurately reflect user actions. The reports display opens, number of clicks, forwards, and bounces, but they do not display unsubscribes, top performing links, or spam reports. You also cannot export a “clean” list that is free of bounced and unsubscribed email addresses. Elite Email displays reports graphically; however, you cannot have reports delivered by email or exported into an Excel spreadsheet.

Pricing

Elite Email offers a 1000 email free trial period. They offer both contact based and email based pricing plans. Contact-based pricing is advantageous if you intend to send more than one email per month to the same list of contacts while email-based pricing is useful if you think your contact lists will be variable throughout the pricing period. Elite Email charges $13 per month for 500 Contacts or $25 per month for 2500 contacts. They also charge $10 per month for 1000 emails.
