Campaigner Comparison and Review

Campaigner Review

Pros:

  • Excellent email creation tools (scored 5 out of 5 stars)
  • High quality customer service (scored 5 out of 5 stars)
  • Can import contacts from email accounts (e.g. Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail)

Cons:

  • Cannot remove the vendor's logo from emails for free
  • Spam checker not available

Conclusion:

Campaigner scored very well in Customer Service and Ease of Use. Their 24/7 availability for phone and email support is not matched by many competitors, but they do not offer standard features such as spam checking tools or A/B test campaigns. However, their intuitive contact management and email creation systems are great tools for email marketing users.

Ease of Use

Campaigner scored 5 out of 5 stars on Ease of Use. They offer more than 500 very flexible email templates that have up to 3 columns for entering text, as well as the ability to edit and replace images. Campaigner provides 10 MB of storage for image hosting which meets our Market Standard. They also provide a WYSIWYG editor, which is an email creation tool that shows what the final content of your email campaign will look like to your readers while you are editing it.  However, Campaigner does not allow you to remove their logo from the bottom of your emails.

Features

Campaigner does not offer computer programs or live people to check your email campaigns for spam. They do offer autoresponders that allow you to send a standard welcome message to your new subscribers confirming their sign-up. Campaigner integrates with Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn but does not integrate with Google Analytics. You can only create A/B test campaigns with their higher-priced plans. Campaigner offers a mobile application for iPhone users.

Managing Contacts

Campaigner scored 4 out of 5 stars for Managing Contacts. They allow you to import from Excel, email accounts, and Outlook as a CSV file, as well as manually cut and paste. Campaigner also automatically filters out unsubscribes and bounces from your contact lists.

Customer Service

Campaigner received 5 out of 5 stars for Customer Service. They offer 24/7 phone, live chat, and email support. Under testing, wait times for support were minimal and support was incredibly helpful.

Campaign Reports

Campaigner received 4 out of 5 stars for Campaign Reports. Reports were found to accurately reflect users’ actions and display opens, forwards, bounces, spam reports, and unsubscribes. However, they do not show number of clicks or top performing links. Campaigner does not display reports graphically, but they do allow you to receive reports in email or export them to a spreadsheet.

Pricing

Campaigner offers a 30-day, 1000 contact free trial. Their pricing is contact-based as opposed to email-based. Contact-based pricing is advantageous if you intend to send more than one email per month to the same list of contacts. Campaigner charges $10 per month for 1000 contacts and $25 per month for 2500 contacts, among other pricing plans.

Campaigner Adds Ability to Import Contacts from Popular Email Services

Campaigner, a top email marketing provider, has recently announced the addition of new features to its service. These features include:

  • Ability to edit images directly
  • Import contacts from popular email services
  • Eliminates duplicate email addresses
  • Preview emails before sending
  • Automatic personalization of email templates
  • Save favorite templates

Being able to edit images directly is a big time saver and eliminates the need for additional graphics programs that can be pricey and difficult to use.

Importing contacts directly from email programs such as Hotmail, Gmail and Yahoo! allows you to quickly set up a database without manipulating lists.

Campaigner also runs a check on the changed contact list to make sure there are no duplicate email addresses. Their new preview feature is very helpful in that it lets you see the campaign before it is released with one click of the mouse.

Another convenient feature is the ability to have your business contact information (company name, email, phone number, etc.) automatically added to email templates.

Finally, they now let the user have the ability to save favorite templates for effortless re-use.
