GoDaddy scored very well for both their Customer Service and Ease of Use. They offer 24/7 phone support which we found to be very helpful. However, they do not provide autoresponders, and we found that their reports do not accurately reflect user actions. But they do offer unlimited hosting space, and their contact management is simple and easy to use.

Ease of Use

GoDaddy scored 5 out of 5 stars for Ease of Use. They offer 150 email templates that allow you to edit and replace images. GoDaddy offers templates with up to three columns of text. They offer unlimited image hosting space, which exceeds our Market Standard of 5 to 10 MB. They also offer a WYSIWYG editor, which is an email creation tool that allows you to see exactly what your email recipients will see as you are editing your campaign. GoDaddy does not include their logo in any of your outgoing emails.


GoDaddy offers a SpamAssassin to scan your email for typical spam keywords. They  offer autoresponders that allow you to send a standard welcome message to your new subscribers confirming their sign-up. They provide integration with social networks, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter, in order to maximize your email marketing efforts. They do not allow you to create A/B test campaigns which you can use to test out specific demographics to determine how to get more readers to open your emails. They also do not integrate with Google Analytics, a tool that tracks the traffic of your readers from your email campaign to (and throughout) your site.

Managing Contacts

GoDaddy scored 4 out of 5 stars for Managing Contacts. They allow you to import contacts from a CSV file into their online contact book, as well as cut and paste. GoDaddy also automatically removes unsubscribes and bounces from your contact list.

Customer Service

GoDaddy scored 5 out of 5 stars for Customer Service. They offer phone and email support, which is available 24/7. While they do not offer live chat support, we found their customer support to be very helpful with short wait times.

Campaign Reports

GoDaddy scored 2 out of 5 stars for Campaign Reports. We found that their reports did not accurately reflect user actions because they did not catch an email address that was supposed to bounce in our test. Their reports display opens, number of clicks, bounces, and unsubscribes but do not display forwards, top performing links, and spam reports. You cannot receive reports in an email, but you can display reports in graphs and export them into a spreadsheet.


GoDaddy does not offer a free trial period to test out their service. They offer an email-based pricing structure, which is advantageous if you want a “pay-as-you-go” plan. GoDaddy charges $9.99 per month for 1000 emails, $14.99 for 25,000 emails, and $19.99 for 100,000 emails.
