StreamSend Comparison and Review

StreamSend Review

  • Unlimited image hosting (Market Standard is 5-10 MB)
  • Can create A/B test campaigns (to test subject line, from name, time sent)

  • Cannot automatically remove unsubscribed readers from your contact list
  • Live chat support not available

StreamSend scored well on Features for offering a WYSIWYG editor and an autoresponder, making both editing emails and sending welcome messages to new subscribers easy. However, they do not allow you to create an A/B test campaign, and they do not offer live chat customer support. They do offer unlimited picture hosting and have Google Analytics integration with their reports.

Ease of Use

StreamSend received 3 out of 5 stars for Ease of Use. They only offer 152 email templates, which are not fully editable. The templates allow for up to two columns of text and they offer unlimited image hosting space, which is much more than our Market Standard of 5 to 10 MB. This larger image hosting size makes it easier to manage your photos. StreamSend also has a WYSIWYG editor so you can see what your email campaign will look like to your readers while you’re editing it. When creating your email campaign, you can easily drag and drop images but not content blocks. You are able to remove their logo from your eNewsletter for free.

StreamSend offers a spam checker that runs each email campaign through nine different filters before sending. They offer an autoresponder, which allows you to send automated messages to your subscribers when certain actions are taken. Their service also integrates with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and MySpace. StreamSend offers an automatic A/B testing feature to test out different components of your email campaign. Their reports integrate with Google Analytics, which is a tool that tracks the traffic of your readers from your email campaign to (and throughout) your site.

Managing Contacts

StreamSend scored 3 out of 5 stars for Managing Contacts. We found their contact management to be fairly easy to use but limited in the different ways you can import contacts. You can import contacts from TXT files or manually cut and paste, but you cannot import contacts from other email accounts. StreamSend also does not automatically remove unsubscribes or bounces from your contact list.

Customer Service

StreamSend received 4 out of 5 stars for Customer Service. They offer phone support from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT and 24/7 email support, but they do not offer live chat support. Their customer support was very friendly and helpful with short wait times.

Campaign Reports

StreamSend received 4 out of 5 stars for Campaign Reports. The reports accurately reflected our tests. They display opens, forwards, number of clicks, bounces, unsubscribed emails, and spam reports. They do not display top performing links. You cannot receive reports in an email, display reports in graphs, or export reports into a spreadsheet, but forcing you to only view your stats on StreamSend’s website in a list. You also cannot export bounces, which might make it difficult to create a clean list.

StreamSend’s free trial is for 30 days and includes 200 emails. Their pricing structure is email-based, which is more advantageous if you want a “pay-as-you-go” plan. Plans start at $19.90 for 2000 emails per month
